Welcome to Ortum Mission Hospital School of Nursing. This is a faith based medical training institution located in the Cherangani range of hills in West Pokot County, about 100km from Kitale town along Kitale-Lodwar highway. The institution offers Diploma training in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing and has been approved by the Nursing Council of Kenya. It has students and staff from all over the country and beyond. It provides high quality training in a Christian atmosphere that is conducive for all learners to engage in study, research, spiritual and other extra-curricular activities. As an institution, we believe that nursing education should be relevant to the needs of the community and acts as a channel through which nurses develop a basis for decision making and evaluation. Therefore, our curriculum ensures competency-based educational approaches through which our students acquire necessary competences to respond to the health needs of individuals, families and communities. It involves both classroom teaching and practical sessions in various hospitals and community set-up.
